About

Our business history began in the year 1969 when our father, Robert Eberhart, began the management of Standard Oil’s newly constructed fertilizer plant west of Preston, Iowa. It was literally built in the middle of a corn field. The business offered anhydrous, liquid fertilizer and pesticides to area farmers.

Although ownership changed throughout the years to Amoco and then Cropmate, dad continued to manage the business and build relationships with area farm families. In 1985, dad and our mother, Agnes, decided to purchase the business and hence the beginning of Eberhart Farm Center, Inc.

With the three of us employed by Eberhart Farm Center, we looked to expand the services and products we offered. In 1988 we began the trucking & selling of aggregate products. 1992 was the year our business started building and servicing grain handling equipment. In 1993 we purchased and began operating the fertilizer & feed business at Heil Feed & Supply in Charlotte. Then in 1995 we added another fertilizer plant location with the purchase of Bill Lamb Fertilizer in Maquoketa. As an end result, our business grew significantly and thus able to offer area farmers an extensive line of crop input products and services.

As our father retired in 1994, the three of us continue to own and operate the facilities in Preston and Maquoketa. We are committed to offering our customers quality products, competitive prices and prompt service. More importantly we continue to enjoy the lasting friendships with area farmers that our father started nearly 50 years ago… and now beginning with the third generation!

Owners,
John Eberhart – Charles Eberhart – Nina Hoffman
